Beverage, technology and innovation

Posted by on Monday December 30th, 2013 in Beverage | 0 comments

Drinktec 2013 has just come to an end, one of the most interesting events in the world of beverages: the main feature of the trade fair was technology. Compactness and flexibility are the priorities of designers. The steady expansion of the packaging range and its variants requires increasingly automated solutions capable of applying the different types of labels precisely and making production changes using few employees and resources. It therefore requires servo-controlled processes and integrated inspection modules for quality control. The hygienic design of process machines and packaging has continued to evolve, able to guarantee microbiological safety in addition to production efficiency : with easy-to-clean components that save water, detergent and energy. As far as labelling, the highlight was self-adhesive labels which can be used to create prints, coatings and even the most varied laminations, resulting in products of...

Sleeve Packaging

It is currently the most attractive, captivating and sought-after form of packaging in any industry, from beverages to dairy, food to cosmetics, wine to detergents. Supermarket shelves today are filled with packaging decorated with sleeve labels that either cover the entire surface of the container or just a part of it, guaranteeing maximum space to illustrate product features using colours and images with top-level graphic definition, to try to attract the attention of consumers from among the multitude of products. But the image is not the only characteristic of the sleeve packaging, as a full-body thermally shrunk label also guarantees a certain greater protection of the container in terms of strength. Protection is also provided in the form of a tamper-evident seal on the cap, which is used to ensure the integrity of the product itself. Increasingly the sleeve...

In the pet shop channel, classic formats still prevail: the sack dominating the segment of dry foods and the can dominating the segment of moist foods, with the box showing good growth. In the segment of moist foods, the search for added value is evident, as shown by the success of small sizes in contrast to the slowdown...
