The coveted awards of the Packaging 2017 Award created by Veronafiere and Vinitaly have been assigned

The Toscana Igt Vermentino “Giallo Paglia” 2015 wine of Arkiline from Colle di Val d’Elsa, in the province of Siena, won the “Label of the year 2017” award. A colourful, essential and modern label that highlights the freshness of the product and its way of being simple and joyful. Citri Vini of Ortona, in the province of Chieti, won the special “Packaging 2017” award, whereas Carlo Pellegrino & C. of Marsala, in the province of Trapani, won the special “Coordinated Image 2017” award.

On 1 March, during Vinitaly, the packages participating in the “21st International Packaging Competition” were selected in Verona. The competition was organised by Veronafiere with the aim to highlight the best finished bottles of wine, spirits, liqueurs and extra virgin olive oil and to reward companies that invest resources and creativity to enhance the aesthetics of their products. Not only the label was taken into consideration, but also the shape of the bottle, its closure, capsule and neck label. A total of 192 samples from France, Italy and Spain were enrolled in the competition in the different categories specified in the regulations. The attentive and experienced international jury was chaired by Gilda Bojardi and consisted of: Riccardo Facci (art-director), Giacomo Mojoli (designer), Elvilino Zangrandi (designer), Annibale Toffolo (journalist). Mr. Mauro Cobelli was legally responsible for the Competition.

Created by Veronafiere-Vinitaly in 1996, over the years the International Packaging Competition has brought the concept of total product quality into the wine sector, since a bottle sells better if it is also well presented and is able to stand out.

In addition to the “Label of the Year”, “Coordinated Image” and “Packaging 2017” awards, other coveted awards are the gold, silver and bronze labels for various product categories.
